Dialysis Technician Course

Be the lifeline of kidney care – Embrace the noble role of a dialysis technician.

Introduction Dialysis Technician Course

A Dialysis Technician is a healthcare professional trained to operate a dialysis machine. You’ll learn to operate the machines, monitor blood levels during treatment, and ensure patient safety. When a person’s kidneys fail to filter blood, Dialysis performs the function of the kidneys by removing waste products and excess fluids from the blood. There are mainly two types of dialysis, The choice between the two depends on the patient’s health condition and lifestyle.

Hemo-dialysis:

Hemodialysis can be performed in a clinic or at home, making it a flexible option for patients, especially those who are bedridden and unable to travel. In the hemodialysis process, blood is pumped from the body into a machine that cleans it, and then the clean blood is returned to the body through tubes. Typically, this treatment is required three times a week, with each session lasting around four hours.

Peritoneal Dialysis:

Peritoneal dialysis uses a cleansing fluid that flows into the abdomen through a tube. The lining of your belly (peritoneum) acts like a natural filter, removing waste from your blood, After some time, the used fluid with waste products is drained and discarded. This method usually takes four to six hours and needs to be performed three to five times a day.
